In cats, the spinal cord does not extend all the way to the sacrum. It ends higher in the spine, roughly around the L6–L7 level. Below that point, the vertebral column contains the cauda equina—nerve roots that continue down to the sacral and coccygeal segments. So describing the spinal cord as reaching the sacrum overstates its actual extent.

The end point you’d expect to see described is around the lower lumbar region (near L5–L6 to L6–L7). Options that stop much higher (like near L3 or C1) or that claim the cord reaches the sacrum don’t reflect this anatomy. The key idea is that the cord ends higher up, and the sacrum contains only nerve roots, not the spinal cord itself.
